The University previously offered a thriving program in early childhood education under the direction of Professor Deb Noyes from 2000 until her death in 2012. The School deactivated the program, however, when it was unable to secure a replacement director.

We are excited to bring the Early Childhood Education Program back, said Schaub. The redesigned program reflects the School of Educations commitment to providing robust practical classroom experiences in diverse settings.

Commendations From the State

The State of Illinois commended the programs design for providing students with early field experiences in St. Louis and East St. Louis, and also for integrating character education into its format.

The State fully endorsed our program starting this spring of 2019, said Schaub.

Students at Greenville will have an opportunity to earn degrees in both early childhood education and elementary education in four years, with Greenville Universitys accelerated study option.
