Greenville Religion and Science Society Hosts Dr. Matthew Hill

Published: April 13, 2021

Dr. Matthew Hill will present at Greenville College on Feb. 19. Hill serves as assistant professor of philosophy at Spring Arbor University. There are two opportunities to hear Hill speak. He will speak at a chapel service at 9:30 a.m. in the Whitlock Music Center, and he will present a colloquium at 4 p.m. in Snyder Hall room 104. Hills colloquium presentation is Connecting Two Truths: The Intersection of Evolutionary Biology and Wesleyan Theology. Both events are free and open to the public.

Hill earned a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2007 and a doctorate in ethics from Durham University in 2013. His dissertation focused on connecting evolutionary theory to Wesleyan ethics. Hill is an ordained elder in the Free Methodist Church and served as pastor in the Genesis Conference for four years. Originally from western New York, Hill moved to Spring Arbor University with his family in the summer of 2011.

Hills lecture is presented by the Greenville Religion and Science Society, a local faith and science initiative of Greenville College intended to serve the college and surrounding community by providing opportunities for engagement with issues related to Christian faith and science through lectures, films, readings and discussion groups. All society events are open to the public with local clergy and laity especially encouraged to attend.
