Greenville College Welcomes Philadelphia Composer Kile Smith as Schoenhals Fine Arts Symposium Guest The Greenville College Department of Music is pleased to announce thatPhiladelphia composer Kile Smith will be theGuest Artistfor this years Schoenhals Fine Arts Symposium, scheduled to take place fromApril 13-15, 2016 on the campus of Greenville College! Hailed by critics, performers, and audiences, the music of Kile Smith is increasingly sought after because of its unique beauty, emotional power, direct appeal and strong voice.Kiles 20152016 season includes major new works for Craig Hella Johnsons Vocal Arts Ensemble and the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, along with many other projects.With multiple commissions from The Crossing, Kile has also been composer in residence for Lyric Fest, the Helena Symphony, and the Jupiter Symphony. Kile is the composer in residence for the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia.

During his residency at Greenville College a concert of Kile Smiths music will be given on Thursday, April 14 at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, April 15 Mr. Smith will also be speaking in the College Chapel at 9:30 a.m. and giving a composition master class at 2:30 p.m. All of these events will take place in the James E. Wilson Recital Hall located in the Whitlock Music Center at the corner of Elm Street and College Avenue.
