Published: April 13, 2021

The Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees met Monday, May 20 for the regular monthly meeting. The Board approved an agreement between KC and Greenville College that establishes a Partnership to facilitate students' co-enrollment between KC and GC in Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Associate Degree in Nursing. This partnership will provide advantages for the student, for Kaskaskia College, and for Greenville College.

A seamless transition to the four-year college would be an advantage for Kaskaskia College students. Students who choose to follow a personalized program for each year of enrollment of the undergraduate experience and who are accepted into Greenville College and Kaskaskia College Nursing Program, would be eligible to participate in a program that would lead to the completion of an Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and an Associate Degree in Nursing. Students participating in this co-enrolled program will receive advising from both institutions assisting them in timely degree completion. Students will have access to both institutions' services and activities. By participating in the Partnership, transfer of credits and better sequencing of learning experiences are assured for students.

Dr. Randy Bergen, Greenville College Acting President says, "This newest partnership between Kaskaskia and Greenville Colleges is an important step forward. Students will be the beneficiaries and healthcare in our region will improve as a result."
