GC Women's Tennis Drops Match to Westminister on the Road

GC lost a tough battle to conference team, Wesminister on Monday with a score of 2-7. Kristen Lynch had an impressive night, being a part of both the Panther points.

Lynch played great in her singles match, overtaking her Blue Jay opponent with a score of 7-6 (6-0), 6-1. She played in the No. 3 spot and was the only winner in singles play for the Panthers. All the singles matches were hard-fought but the Lady Panthers could not come out on top and headed into doubles down 1-5.

Doubles play went a bit more smoothly for GC as the scores were much closer. No. 1 team Minshall an Minshall lost a tough 5-8 set and the No. 3 duo of Harling and Kennedy dropped a heartbreaking 8-9 (6-8) match. The team of Lynch and Chelsie Evans succeeded however, coming out with a 9-7 victory for the Panthers.

This game moves the Panthers' record to 2-6 (1-1 SLIAC). The ladies will look to redeem themselves from this conference loss on Thursday as they take on the Fontbonne Griffins.
