GC Women's Cross Country Running Towards 2012

Published: April 13, 2021

The Lady Panther Cross Country team is fueled to compete this season after injury of Junior, Aubree Schreder proved a devastating loss to the team. Schreder is back this season and the team is hopeful that she will rise to be the answer the team needs.

Aubree Schreder will be returning for the Lady Panthers after an injury forced her to medical red shirt last year. Schreder ran for Greenville in 2010 as a freshman and was recognized as an All-Region runner, the SLIAC champion, SLIAC runner of the year, SLIAC newcomer of the year, and was on the SLIAC first team All-Confrence. She went to the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championship and finished 82nd among the 279 runners that competed. Schreder's return is a long awaited one and the team is excited to have her back on board. Suzanne Ford is also returning to the team and, as team MVP last year there are high hopes

Coach Brian Patton is returning to lead the women again this year. "The women's team will be better than we were last year" Patton explains, "a lot of girls will be fighting for spots and the top 5 will probably be different every meet."

The Lady Panthers begin their 2012 season on Friday, August 31 at 6:00pm when they travel to St. Louis, Mo. for a meet in Forest Park. The ladies will run in the SLIAC Championships on October 27 and hope for an impressive season this year.
