GC Baseball Dominates Principia With 11-1 Win

GREENVILLE, Ill.--The Greenville Panthers played Principia at home and came away with the impressive 11-1 victory. Over the course of the game, GC out-hit Prin 15 to 4 in the eight innings played.

The game started fairly slow for both teams, with just a lone GC run being scored in the game's first four innings. Greenville added another two runs in the bottom of the fifth to bring the game to a 3-0 lead heading into the sixth inning. Prin scored their only run of the game in the top of the 6th, which brought the score to 3-1 with GC still on top. The game was fairly back-and-forth until the final inning when the Panthers scored an impressive 8 runs to bring the game to its final score of 11-1, GC.

Greenville rotated through 6 different pitchers in the game. Dylan Bone was credited with the win after facing 10 batters in three innings and allowing three hits. CJ Opp, Dillion Reel, Jason Collingwood, and Nick Bifano each pitched one inning and did not allow any hits. Jesse Sneed gave up the lone run in the 6th inning.

Kenny Trager and Tim Osborne each hit a double for Greenville. Trager and Ryan Smith each had one RBI and Osborne, Cole Lawson, and Mitchell Cernek all recorded two RBI in the game.

The team's record now stands at 14-19 (11-11 SLIAC). They will play again in a double-header on Wednesday, May 1 at Millikin.
