GC Alumnus Honored with Word Guild Award

The Word Guild recently recognized Greenville College alumnus Rev. Donald N. Bastian 53 for his most recent book, The Pastor's First Love: And Other Essays on a High and Holy Calling (BPS Books, Toronto).

The award was announced at the Guilds 26th annual gala this past spring where authors were honored for their work in various categories including non-fiction, articles, short stories, poetry and more. Bastians book won in the instructional book category.

The Word Guild is a community of more than 325 Canadian writers, editors, speakers, publishers, booksellers, librarians and others supportive of Christian writing. Guild members hail from across Canada and represent diverse denominations and cultures. They affirm a common statement of faith and are united in their passion for the written word.

Bastian is a retired bishop of the Free Methodist Church of North America. He is the author of Counterfeit: The Lie of Living Together Unmarried, Gods House Rules and the blog Just Call me Pastor.
