Football topped at Crown

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. The football team suffered a 22-14 loss at Crown on Saturday. The Panthers only produced 272 yards of total offense as they were stymied by a strong Storm defensive effort.

Greenvilles afternoon was impacted by 13 penalties which accounted for 125 yards.

The Panthers took the early lead in the game, gaining a 7-0 first quarter lead when Hamid Camara ran the ball for a six yard touchdown.

Crown scored two touchdowns in the second quarter to hold a 12-7 advantage at halftime.

Crown added a field goal and touchdown in the third quarter to take command of the game.

A 25-yard pass reception by Chase Stamatis closed the deficit to eight points with 38 seconds remaining, but Greenville was not able to recover the onside kick.

Jacob Battaglia was 8-of-16 for 108 yards passing and a touchdown.

Camara ran 11 times for 57 yards, and Samuel Northey picked up 43 yards rushing on five attempts.

The Panther defense was paced by the efforts of Robert Deering who accounted for six solo and 18 assisted tackles.

Greenville (2-4, 2-3 UMAC) hosts MacMurray on Saturday in the Greenville College homecoming football game.
