Football stays atop UMAC with 35-17 win over Crown

GREENVILLE, Ill. The football team pushed their winning streak to five games with a 35-17 win over Crown on Saturday. Samuel Northey rushed for 84 yards and picked up 51 receiving yards, including two touchdown receptions.

Greenville put points on the scoreboard early, taking their first possession 60 yards and capping it with Samuel Northeys four yard touchdown catch from Eric Northey.

Crown tied the game on their first possession of the second quarter.

A five yard touchdown run from Eric Northey and a 47 yard touchdown reception by Samuel Northey allowed Greenville to end the half with a 21-7 lead.

In the third quarter, Crown scored 10 unanswered points.

Greenville put the game out of reach with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Nathan Callaway ran the ball in from 17 yards, and Nicholas Morrow had a 30 yard fumble return for the final score.

Eric Northey completed 11-of-19 passes for 138 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Samuel Northeys six carries for 84 yards and four receptions for 51 yards led Greenvilles offense. Callaway had nine carries for 64 yards, and John Dudley caught four passes for 42 yards.

The Panther defense was led by Ralph Regalado with seven tackles. Nicholas Morrow, Jonathan Uperesa, and LaRoy Ruffin picked up quarterback sacks. Jarrid Williams picked off one Crown pass and returned it 27 yards.

The Panthers (5-1, 5-0 UMAC) travel to Northwestern in a matchup of conference championship contenders next Saturday.
