AUBURNDALE, Fla. After a bitter day one start to spring break, the Panthers were dealt another difficult blow in day two action Tuesday. GC was handled in both games of the morning double-header by the Ravens of Anderson University, falling 4-0 in the first contest and 11-7 in the finale.

In the first game, Anderson pitcher Nolan Schaefer tossed a complete game shutout for his first college victory. The freshman allowed five hits and no runs while striking eight with three walks.

Greenville got notable offensive production from Junior Ryan Siddle, who hit two-for-two in the contest.

On the mound for the Panthers, freshman pitcher Cody Hinterscher was charged with the loss- tossing five innings, dealing three strikeouts, and giving up only four hits.

For Anderson University, Michael Tucker led the offense with a triple and two RBI. Nate Clem added a double and an RBI and Brady Roundtree chipped in with a hit and a run batted in.

In the second game, the offense of Greenville began to find its stride, with the Panthers collecting 12 hits in 30 at bats, producing seven runs, and striking out five times as a unit. A late sixth inning push by the bats of GC pulled the game within reach, but the Ravens of Anderson closed the door with a number of key RBIs down the stretch that sealed the capper 11-7.

Senior David Massengill picked up the loss in the contest, allowing nine hits and five runs in five innings pitched with three strikeouts.

Andersons Kyle Dillon earned the victory on the mound for the Ravens.

Offensively Greenville posted a true team effort, with five batters going .500 or better in the game, and four men earning RBIs. Senior Kyle Hobar turned in his best performance of the season at the plate, going 3-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
