Baseball Shuts Out Westminster

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team'swin streak was bumped up to four games after beating Westminster 4-0 at home. The game was completely scoreless except for the seventh inning when the Panthers tallied four runs.

Dylan Bone pitched eight innings for the Panthers, and held Westminster to only five hits for the day. The Panthers defense also had three double plays. This was the second shutout on the season for Greenville.

The bottom of the seventh saw Tommie Brown, Dalton McFarland, and Jared Souhrada score on a double to center field by Dathan Berning. The next batter, Mitchell Cernek, hit a triple which allowed Berning to reach home. The Panthers went on to hold Westminster hitless and close out the victory.

With another conference win, the Panthers stand at 4-1 in the SLIAC and 7-8 on the season. Westminster returns to Greenville on Saturday, March 29 for a doubleheader.
