GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The Greenville baseball team has been placed in the Central regional, hosted by Wartburg College. The Panthers qualified for their first NCAA national tournament by winning the championship of the SLIAC tournament. The SLIAC tournament champion gains the automatic SLIAC bid.

Greenville (22-19) will play Wisconsin - Stevens Point on Wednesday at Noon in the first round game in the double elimination regional at Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo, Iowa.

Other teams in the regional include fellow SLIAC member Webster, Wartburg, Anderson, and Carthage.

If the Panthers win their first round game, they would play at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday against the loser of Anderson and Wartburg.

If Greenville loses their first round game, they will play at Noon on Thursday against the loser of Webster and Carthage.

Greenville went 1-3 against the regional field, defeating Webster in the SLIAC tournament and losing two regular season contests to Webster and one to Anderson.
