GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team split a pair of games to secure a season record better than .500 as they hosted the SLIAC tournament. They fell in the bottom of the ninth to lose 3-2 against Webster before exploding for a 15-5 win against division rival MacMurray.

Mike Hardin had two hits and scored a run for Greenville.

Ryan Strohm pitched eight innings, allowing two runs on nine hits. He struck out five.

Dillon Reel took the loss as he left a runner in scoring position to face Jason Collingwood who permitted a single to allow an inherited runner to score.

Hardin and Nate Miller posted three hits for the Panther squad. Jesse Getz and Trevor Montgomery totaled two hits.

In Greenville's nine run first inning, Hardin got Greenville's first run as he scored on a wild pitch. Ralls, Getz, and Max Gabriel put the Panthers on the scoreboard with run scoring doubles. Hardin and Miller produced RBI singles, and Montgomery had a two run double.

Greenville added a run in the top of the second on Gabriel's RBI single.

The Panthers got three runs in the top of the fourth with Millers two-run triple and a dropped fly ball by the left fielder that gave an extra tally.

Greenville's final two runs came in the top of the sixth when a fielder's choice and an error permitted the final runs.

Adam Lamb was the winning pitcher as he went seven innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and striking out seven.

The Panthers (22-20) will play the loser of Webster and Westminster at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday.
