On November 9, President Ivan Filby recognized Janice Barth (shown below, top picture) and Barb Tackett (shown below, bottom picture) for their exceptional contributions to our college community. He presented each with the Presidents Outstanding Service Award.
The recognition came at an all-employee gathering in Armington Center. Each awardee received a plaque and a check for $250. Grateful colleagues also awarded each with a standing ovation.
Grace Times TwoHead Mens Basketball Coach George Barber told about Janice Barths contributions in support of GC athletics. Her kind patience regularly benefits the 50 percent of GC students who participate in athletics, as well as the Colleges 14 coaches.
In a fast-paced environment, said Barber, she listens carefully, supplies information accurately and repeatedly demonstrates genuine care.
Deb Miller, off-campus program coordinator in the School of Education, shared about the administrative support Barb supplies: She makes the impossible look effortless.
Miller quoted Professor Karlene Johnson, who said of Barb, Im in awe of all that she accomplishes and the grace with which she does accomplish it.
Recognizing Above and Beyond ServiceThe President's Outstanding Service Award is given to employees who strive to create positive work environments, encourage their colleagues and willingly go above and beyond. It acknowledges the important role they play in the mission of Greenville College.
GC Vision: We give our work as worship and welcome the presence of the risen Christ to fill us, equip us, and send us.
