GREENVILLE, Ill. Senior striker Craig Cobi Allen netted three goals against the Highlanders of MacMurray on Saturday to help GC claim their conference opener.

Allen scored in the 17th, 47th, and 48th minutes and notched his hat trick on six attempts. As a unit GC blasted the MacMurray defense with 36 total shots and 13 corners.

Defensively senior keeper Nathan Haas earned the win recording the shutout. GC allowed only three shots in the contest and controlled the Highlanders throughout.

Senior David Dunlop opened the contest with an unassisted score at 7:16 to put the Panthers up 1-0. Allen then buried the first of his three goals on an assist from Sean McQuillan in the 17th minute to give Greenville the 2-0 lead after the first period.

In the opening minutes of the second half Allen shined, connecting on both his chances in the 47th and 48th minutes. The first goal came on an assist from freshman David Cole, while an assist by sophomore Jacob Krisher set up the second score. Krisher would again contribute at the 68:50 mark, this time with a goal of his own on a well placed pass from senior Daniel Taylor to stretch the lead to 5-0. Freshmen Ryan Sanfilippo and Chaplin Richards closed the conference duel with a pair of goals in the 81st and 88th minutes to seal the 7-0 Greenville win.

With the win GC advances to 3-3-3 (1-0 SLIAC) and will look to down Rose-Hulman on Tuesday in Terre Haute, Ind.
