GREENVILLE, Ill.--  AgapeFest 2013 is partnering with The Simple Room of Greenville, Ill. to put on a 5K on Saturday, May 4 at 9 a.m. The proceeds from the 5K will go to The Simple Room of Greenville, Ill.

"The AgapeFest 5K is a great way to get the community and those outside the Greenville community to support a great cause," said Amber Featherston, the director of AgapeFest 2013. "Greenville College students work hard year round to make sure children feel the love of Christ, and the 5K is a great way for others to see this in action."

AgapeFest 2013 is proud to offer the Racin' and Rockin' 5K as part of the weekend festivities at the Bond County Fairgrounds. Not only will it be a great way to support the local community, but it will also be an exciting opportunity for runners to do what they love during AgapeFest weekend. AgapeFest is an annual Christian music festival organized by Greenville College students that features some of the top acts in Christian music and attracts thousands of fans during the two-day event.

Proceeds will benefit The Simple Room, which seeks to empower youth and build community by offering a place for the children of Greenville, Ill. to go after school. The Simple Room offers programming to local youth for spiritual, physical, mental, and social development.

"The Simple Room is a true distinctive of Greenville. It offers a practical, real way for the Greenville community to practice what it means to love one's neighbors," said Kaity Teer, volunteer, donor and former staff member at The Simple Room. "It was a privilege to witness firsthand the way The Simple Room brings people from the community together - Greenville College students, staff and professors; local ministers and their congregations; and members of municipal and educational organizations - in order to meet needs, foster relationships and empower local youth."

To register for the AgapeFest 2013 Racin' and Rockin' 5K, go to Hurry and register for the event, as the cost to participate will go up on April 27. Lace up those running shoes, and prepare to support local youth on May 4 at the Bond County Fairgrounds!
