When freshman Danica Garcia joined more than 40 other students last weekend on a trip to St. Louis for Greenville College's Urban Plunge, she hardly knew what to expect. An announcement in chapel days before hinted at work with refugees. The schedule she received listed activities like training, team building, and a service project, but offered few details.
A 1961 Greenville College graduate, Joseph was one of 12 astronomers to propose the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) to the European Space Agency. The ISO launched in 1995 and succeeded in giving astronomers new and better definition of objects in space.

"My experience at Greenville College definitely gave me an edge. I graduated as an education major with a job doing exactly what I wanted to do. If that's not an edge, then I don't know what is," reasons Caleb Romoser, a member of the class of 2012.
