With the ever flattening world due to technology it's the right brained creative minds that will shape our future. In my experience, college is no longer about correct answers, grades, or the path to a safe and secure job but rather a four year cultivation period in which responsibility is minimal, time and freedom are excessive, and the opportunity to creatively flourish is optimal. The four years of college and the path that it starts you on is a roller coaster of discovery in which Greenville College and the Digital Media major is a fantastic launching pad.
My name is Luke Rice. I am a 2010 graduate with a Digital Media major with emphasis in Internet and Art. I also have a Computer Information Systems and Art minors.
After looking through the majors at GC, I decided that Digital Media seemed like an appropriate choice. I knew I wanted to do something with computers or graphics, but I was not really set on a specific category. The Digital Media program offers multiple tracks that cover very different material and allow students to choose the ones that fit. Once I tried my hand in each of them, I was able to narrow down what I really wanted to do.
