2013 Commencement Weekend Information

1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Commencement Walk-Through Event for Traditional Students Only
Front Lawn

Please plan to participate in this informative meeting. The Commencement Committee will walk graduating seniors through the commencement ceremony, beginning with line-up instructions for the "march" from the front lawn and ending with seating instructions within the Crum Recreation Center.

11:30 - 1:00 p.m. Luncheon - Available by Sodexo
Armington Center

12:30 p.m.- Open seating begins - Seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Crum Recreation Center (An un-air conditioned facility.)

Additional seating is available in Armington Center, with large screen viewing of the commencement ceremony. This area is air-conditioned, handicap accessible, and ideal for families who desire space for young children.

1:15 p.m. Faculty Line-up - Student Union

2:00 p.m. Commencement - Adult, Graduate & UTEP - Crum Recreation Center

4:30 - 5:15 p.m. GC Choir Concert
Whitlock Music Center - James Wilson Recital Hall

Hear the college's concert choir present selections from their spring tour.

5:15 p.m. Line-up for Ivy Cutting
Spruce Mall - Front of Snyder Hall
(Rain Location: H.J. Long Gymnasium)

5:30 p.m. Ivy Cutting Ceremony
Front Lawn (Students, please wear your cap and gowns.)

The Ivy Cutting Ceremony will immediately follow the Greenville College Choir concert. This is a silent ceremony that symbolizes the end of the students' college life together and concludes the ceremonies for Saturday, May 25.

8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Commencement Breakfast Reception-Joy House, 220 East College Avenue

Acting President Randy Bergen and his wife, Vondria Bergen, invite you to the 43rd Annual Commencement Breakfast Reception. This reception is open to parents, families, and graduating seniors. (no reservations required)

10:30 a.m. Line-up for Baccalaureate

Faculty & Students - Front Lawn
There is no walking order for this ceremony.
(Rain location: H. J. Long Gymnasium)

11:00 a.m. Baccalaureate
Crum Recreation Center (An un-air conditioned facility.)

Baccalaureate is a farewell address in the form of a sermon delivered to the graduating class. Seating is open for family and friends.

12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Graduation Luncheon - Available by Sodexo

Graduating seniors who held a Spring '13 meal card will be guests of Sodexo.
