Job Description

Part time position. The Student Accompanist (classical and/or contemporary) reports to the Coordinator of Vocal Studies, working closely with the Department of Music. The Student Accompanist plays one or more musical instruments and improvises/composes for various vocal and instrumental student performances. Rehearsals and performances are individually scheduled with student performers throughout the school year. Requirements: Plays traditional and/or contemporary music written scores in vocal and instrumental accompanying. Provides accompaniment for various on campus performances including recitals, recital juries and regular juries. Improvises and composes music for contemporary performances. Qualifications: Experience and familiarity in traditional and/or contemporary music. Excellent sight reading skills, knowledge of vocal and instrumental repertoire, and demonstrated success as a collaborative pianist are required. Must be enrolled in a Greenville University undergraduate program. Must pass the Proficiency Exam scheduled with the Instructor of Piano prior to hiring. Pay Rate: $9.00/hour.
