LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Lady Panthers volleyball squad made the trip to Spalding University in Louisville on Saturday, Sept. 25 only to drop their first conference match of the season to the Lady Golden Eagles in four sets.
The first set showcased tight battle, but eight errors committed by the Lady Panthers gave Spalding the slight edge as they took the 25-23 victory.
Spalding caught fire in the second set, tallying 11 kills and only 2 errors as they cruised past the Lady Panthers 25-16.
The Lady Panthers responded in the third set however, overcoming a .417 kill percentage posted by the Lady Golden Eagles, and clinched a 25-22 win.
The fourth set proved to be the end of this closely contested battle as the Lady Golden Eagles of Spalding University closed out the Panthers in 25-23 finale.
This loss snaps a seven match winning streak and also hands the Panthers their first conference loss of the season. The Lady Panthers are 8-4 overall, and 3-1 in the SLIAC this season.
