Women's Soccer Comes Up Short in SLIAC Semi-Finals

GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The Lady Panthers hosted Principia College in the SLIAC Semi-Finals and could not pull off the win, falling 3-0 and ending their 2013 season.

Principia scored early in the game when Kenzie Keller found the back of the net in the 9th minute of the game. Despite an offensive surge, GC held the away team to 1-0 heading into halftime.

The second half started much better for the home side, with GC coming out of the locker room with confidence. Unfortunately, Principia's Hayley MacWillams scored in the 60th minute to bring the score to 2-0. In the 79th minute, the away side scored another goal when Rachel Perea finished a ball bouncing in the box after a corner kick. This would prove to be the final goal of the game, with Principia wining 3-0 and going on to the Championship to face Webster.

Greenville took 7 shots in the game and GC goalkeeper, Heidi Koehl, made 8 impressive saves in 88 minutes played.
