GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The Greenville College men's soccer team finished their 2013 season with a notable 3.27 team GPA. The Panthers also had four players on the 2013 Fall SLIAC All-Academic Team.
This high team GPA is impressive for such a large team. Head Coach Chris Swift is proud of his team's academic success.
"We have emphasized excellence in every aspect, whether on the field or in the classroom, from day one," Swift explained. "We had a successful season on the field, but this success in the classroom is every bit as sweet. To have 41 guys come together to achieve this is absolutely fantastic and I am so proud of this group. The scary thing is, there is room for improvement, and we will work to do even better."
Four members of the men's soccer team were named to the Fall 2013 SLIAC All-Academic Team. Thomas Crown, Aaron Mulholland, Justin Mulholland, and Robert Wright were each awarded this esteemed honor. According to the SLIAC website, in order to be eligible, an athlete must "hold a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and have been enrolled in at least one full year at their current institution."
