The men’s track and field team earned sixth of 19 scoring teams at the NCCAA indoor national championships on Friday and Saturday. Senior Bruce Gray led the squad with national titles in the 55 meter and 200 meter dashes.
The men’s basketball team held its fourth place position in the SLIAC standings with a road win at Principia on Tuesday. The Panthers stormed back from a two-point halftime deficit to outscore Principia by 11 points in the second half and earn the 83-74 win.
The NCAA Division III No. 20 men’s track and field team competed Saturday at Monmouth. The Panthers saw seniors Bruce Gray and Bryan Waugh pick up first place marks in the 60 meter dash and weight throw, respectively.
The women’s track and field team participated in a meet at Monmouth on Saturday and came back with three performances ranking in the top nine of their events. Greenville’s 800 meter relay team posted a fourth place performance.
The women's basketball team cut an 18 point deficit to a single point with a little over one minute remaining but couldn't get the final boost to catapult them over the top as they lost 54-53 to NCCAA regional opponent Trinity Christian on Thursday night.
