Biography

Tenequa Martin has served as head softball coach and senior women's administrator since 2011. Martin succeeds former head softball coach Brian Reinhard who served 10 years in the position. Martin will follow former assistant softball coach Erica Ritter in the position of senior women's administrator. Martin's duties officially begin August 1, 2011.

Martin comes to Greenville following one year as assistant softball coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville where the team returned to action after a four-year hiatus. The team won 18 games in the 2011 season and qualified for the MCAC postseason tournament.

Martin, a 2010 graduate of Lyon College in Batesville, Ark., earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance. She played softball for the Scots over three years and ranks first among Lyon's single season and career statistical leaders in career games, career home runs, single-season home runs, career wins, career pitching starts, career complete games, career shutouts, career saves, career innings pitched, single-season pitching starts, single-season complete games, single-season shutouts, single-season saves, and single-season innings pitched. She played first base and was a pitcher.

"We are pleased that Tenequa is coming to G.C. She comes with excellent recommendations, and she is going to bring the energy of a young coach to our program," said Doug Faulkner, director of athletics. "In addition, her experiences as a pitcher and infielder were critical credentials. Most of all, we felt Tenequa was a great mission fit for G.C."
