Financial Aid

Paying for college can be tough, we know that. That's why we do our best to offer you help through scholarships, grants, loans and on-campus work-study.

In fact, 96% of our students get some kind of financial assistance through at least one of these channels. Check out the info on these pages. And remember--if you have questions, give us a call, or shoot us an email. We are happy to help!


2010-11 Financial Aid Information to know:

*  Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov - BEFORE APRIL 15, 2010

• Inform the FinAid Office if you need to make arrangements for a later date

*  New! Your Award Letter will be posted at the GC Student Data Center

• Watch for an email message to your GC account that your award has been prepared.
• Want a paper or email copy? Contact the Financial Aid Office at finaid@greenville.edu

*  Be sure to submit requested documents to the FinAid Office promptly

• New! If documents are needed, the items will be listed at the GC Student Data Center
• Documents that may be requested: federal tax returns & W-2 forms, Verification Worksheet, Parent PLUS Loan Application, Master Promissory Notes, Entrance Counseling, etc.

*  New! Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for Continued Aid Eligibility

• Read this policy at the GC web page. You are responsible to know how your cum GPA & hours earned affects your continued aid eligibility.

*  New! Legacy Scholarship

• If you currently receive an Alumni, Sibling, or FMY award, your current dollar amount will remain the same, but will be combined and appear as a Legacy Scholarship on your new award letter.

*  Renewal Requirements

• GC Academic and Federal ACG/SMART Awards require a 3.0 cum GPA after the spring semester for renewal. GC Character & Service Award requires a 2.5 cum GPA.

*  Change in Family Income or Special Circumstances

• If your family has experienced a change in income or has extenuating circumstances that affect your ability to return to GC, be sure to let the Financial Aid Office know about your situation.
