Special Education Endorsement Course Descriptions

The enrollment deadline for summer 2014 LBS 1 courses has passed. Please check back in early 2015 for the summer 2015 LBS 1 schedule.

*The state of Illinois may require additional coursework for any educational endorsement. Students should contact their Regional Office of Education for a transcript review to determine which courses they need to fulfill the full endorsement. Students will also contact their Regional Office of Education to make application for having the endorsement added to their current teaching certificate. An official Greenville College transcript will be required. See this website for information about how to request an official Greenville College transcript after your grades are posted:

The following schedule is a sample of the format of the courses.

Greenville - June 9

  • EDU 514 Characteristics of Students with Disabilities (4 credits) (this course not offered in Centralia) 

Godfrey and Lincoln June 9 – June 13

  • 514 Characteristics of Students with Disabilities (4 credits)    

All locations

   June 16 – June 20: 

  • EDU 594 Practicum (1 credit)

    (If enrollment dictates, an additional week may be added for July 14 – July 18)

   June 23 – June 27

  • EDU 518 Diagnostic Assessment (3 credits)

   July 7 – July 11

  • EDU 511 Special Education Methods and Materials (4 credits)    


Courses offered in the following locations: Centralia- Kaskaskia College (excluding EDU 514), Godfrey- Lewis & Clark Community College, Greenville- Greenville College, Lincoln- Lincoln Christian University.
In addition to these locations, some courses are offered online.
