M.A.E., Special Education

MAE-Special Education is a 33 semester hour program that leads to a Master of Arts degree in education. The program will renew and strengthen your understanding of special education and broaden your qualifications as a professional working with students with disabilities. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Teachers may complete the MAE-Special Education program in as little as 18 months. Classes are  offered in a hybrid format and online format that allows you flexibility as you complete the program. Online foundational curriculum courses are offered year round, with hybrid capstone courses meeting throughout the summer months. Students will also complete field experience to meet Illinois State Board of Education requirements for special education endorsement. Greenville College is approved to offer the program in Belleville, Centralia, Godfrey, Greenville, and Lincoln. Class locations are dependent on student enrollment.
