Sociology Major

Sociology Major Overview

The Sociology Major is designed to help you develop insight into man's social behavior and recurring patterns of interaction. Your course work will include the evolution on social institutions and the dynamic process of continued change examined from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Studies in anthropology will deepen your knowledge of yourself, your culture, and your world through the investigation of all men.

Sociology lays a solid foundation for specialized study in other related fields such as psychology, economics, education, history, and the many areas of business. Professors make course work relevant to your daily life. Classroom knowledge is integrated with your practical learning through actual research, presentation of your papers at sociology gatherings and through experiences in the community.
