Social Work Major

Social Work Major Overview

Social Work is about helping people. Our world will always have people in need; in need of individuals who will respond to the Christian call of service with a commitment to help others. The Social Work Major teaches you to work with individuals, groups, and communities. The program blends theoretical and applied techniques.

You'll observe and participate at social work agencies, children's homes, homes for the aged, mental and penal institutions, probation and parole agencies, juvenile courts and rural areas. This practical educational approach provides valuable insight into career decisions and a significant advantage in establishing yourself in a successful career.

The Greenville University Social Work Program is in the process of accreditation with the Council on Social Work Education. Please see the attached Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes for information on how our program is meeting or exceeding competency requirements.
