Media Communication Major Overview

The Media Communication major provides students with specialty training in one of two emphases: media communication or public relations. The Media Communication major leads to the bachelor of arts degree.

Marshall McLuhan famously stated, "Environments are not passive wrappings, but are, rather, active processes which are invisible." In light of this insight, the Greenville College Communication & Media Studies department trains students to see, understand and critique the underlying communication structures and infrastructures that shape the world they live in. Throughout a student's course of study, they will research the theories, skills and literacies necessary for living in a digital world.
