Chemistry Major Overview

Chemistry is everywhere. Virtually every technical field involved in research and product development relies on Chemistry in some way. It connects with physics and geology on the one hand and environmental science, biology and medicine on the other. Chemists are well prepared by their training at Greenville University. Chemistry Majors can focus on preparation for graduate or professional schools, receive certification for teaching at the mid-school and secondary levels. From 1985-2000, 82% of chemistry graduates obtained or are pursuing an advanced degree. A total of 67% went on to doctorate programs, with 53% enrolling in medical doctorates.

The Sciences at Greenville University offer "big school" opportunities in an intimate environment. Over 70% of all recent science graduates attend graduate school or gained employment related to their major in the first year. All full-time professors in the division of Science have a doctorate in their respective discipline.
