Accounting Minor

Accounting Minor Overview

Some of our graduates obtain jobs with organizations preparing and analyzing financial statements ("management accountants").  Other graduates ("public accountants") work for auditing firms which review the financial statements prepared by other organizations.

Our graduates who choose to pursue the CPA designation have an very good pass rate.  The CPA designation is optional for management accountants, but required for public accountants.  To earn the CPA designation, generally (1) one must attend five years of college (for example, a four-year Bachelors degree plus a one-year Masters degree) and (2) pass four tests which are each three to four hour long.

In addition to the Accounting major, Greenville College also offers a minor in Accounting.  Students with majors in both the Management Department and other departments have found an Accounting minor to be a good complement to their major course of study.

For an Accounting minor you will be required to take at least 20 credit hours of accounting and management courses.
