Job Description:

The Mathematics Department at Greenville University seeks applicants for a one-year position in teaching quantitative reasoning courses as well as courses within the major.

Required: A Master’s Degree in mathematics with teaching experience.

Preferred: PhD or ABD in mathematics or mathematics education with teaching experience.

CONTEXT FOR THE POSITION:  This position offers a mathematician the opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience in their field.  Reciprocally, it provides the department and students competent and diverse instruction

Key Responsibilities:

The teaching load for this position is 4/4.  In the fall and spring semesters, the instructor will teach sections of courses such as Finite Mathematics, Mathematical Ideas, Differential Equations, Intuitive (Applied) Calculus.  No advising or committee responsibilities will be expected.   A few weekly hours from a student worker will be provided to assist with grading.

A salary of $35,000, paid over 12 months beginning in August will be provided. Additional compensation may be available through teaching opportunities during Interterm, May term, or Summer term. The Instructor will also have the option to participate in our employee medical/dental insurance plans.
