Job Description:

The Briner School of Business at Greenville College is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Primary responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, student recruitment, curriculum and course development, scholarly activities, service, and establishing strong relationships with the professional community.

The applicant will teach undergraduate courses in the Business Management program at the entry and advanced level, as well as graduate level courses in both face-to-face and online formats. The applicant must be willing to develop interdisciplinary project-based courses.

Faculty at Greenville College participate in curricular development, advising; participate in service activities including committee and professional organizations; and maintain active connections with the academic community and professional organizations.


Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, student support, university service, and scholarly activity, ability to integrate technology and experiential learning into coursework, versatile and willing to serve as an integral part of a diversified and active team of business faculty.

Applicants should also have experience teaching in one or more of the following disciplines: Management, Finance, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship. Specific emphasis in Strategic Management and/or Entrepreneurship and Project Based Learning is ideal, but not required. 


The College has a growing Business School with a commitment to experiential learning, faith integration and internationalization and is one of the largest departments on campus.  Greenville College has approximately 1600 students and is located 50 miles east of St. Louis in an attractive residential community of approximately 7,000 people.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teach 12-13 credits per fall and spring semesters, including courses in Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Management courses with a focus on Project-Based learning.
  2. Operate computer technologies relevant to the discipline to cover face to face, hybrid and on-line course formats.
  3. Supervise and advise students 
  4. Perform University service including committee work as assigned
  5. Participate in professional development including grant writing and research activities
  6. Assist with recruiting and marketing activities to build student awareness of the Briner School of Business and it’s majors
  7. Commit to the development and execution of experiential learning opportunities
  8. Perform other duties as assigned

This position is a 9 month assignment with both faculty and administrative duties.

The scale for determining compensation is based on academic preparation and years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: Practical experience in business or entrepreneurship is desired, as is teaching experience at the university level 

Education or Certification:

Education: PhD or DBA in business or closely related field; ABD candidates or those with significant progress towards terminal degree will be considered.
