Job Description:

The university seeks an entrepreneurial and innovative faculty member who will advance its experiential learning model that meets current and emerging industry needs while developing leaders who are prepared to create and sustain success in a changing global environment. The successful transition of the Department of Business Management to the Briner School of Business, recently launched in 2015, is a top priority as Greenville College transitions to Greenville University this year. The selected candidate will have an exceptional opportunity to build a lasting legacy of excellence and innovation in business education through advancing experiential learning models both face to face and online.

Reporting to the Dean of the School of Business, the new faculty member will be expected to teach courses in the Business Management program at the entry and advanced level. The applicant must be willing to teach and develop interdisciplinary project-based courses. The applicant should demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, student support and university service, have the ability to integrate technology and experiential learning into coursework, and be versatile and willing to serve as an integral part of a diversified and active team of business faculty. Applicants should ideally have experience teaching in one or more of the following disciplines: Management, Finance, Strategic Management and/or Entrepreneurship. 

This position involves teaching responsibilities in business studies with a focus on management as well as areas including, but not limited to: entrepreneurship, business management, international business, business strategy, marketing management, business analysis, managerial ethics, project and strategic management. Additional responsibilities normally expected of a full-time faculty member include committee work; advising students; regular participation in efforts of recruitment, retention, and other duties as assigned by the School of Business Dean or Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Essential Functions:

  1. Teach 12-13 credits per fall and spring semesters, including courses in Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Management courses with a focus on Project-Based learning.
  2. Operate computer technologies relevant to the discipline to cover face to face, hybrid and on-line course formats.
  3. Supervise and advise students. 
  4. Perform University service including committee work as assigned.
  5. Participate in professional development activities.
  6. Assist with recruiting and marketing to build student awareness of the Briner School of Business and its majors.
  7. Commit to the development and execution of experiential learning coursework and activities.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

The scale for determining compensation is based on academic preparation and years of relevant experience. A generous benefits package includes healthcare coverage, retirement contributions, disability insurance, and a tuition waiver for dependents at Greenville University and a tuition exchange program with 75+ other Christian colleges.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: PhD or DBA in business or closely related field preferred.


Experience: Practical experience in business or entrepreneurship is desired, as is teaching experience at the university level.
