Job Description:

Greenville College announces an opening of a full-time tenure-track assistant (or associate) professor in Biology to start in August 2017.  This individual will teach courses related to the Biology major as well as biology courses that serve other majors.  In addition, he or she will conduct summer research involving undergraduate students.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-time faculty teaching load is at least 12 credit hours per semester.  Other responsibilities include assisting in recruitment of students, student mentoring and advisement, departmental and divisional planning, and regular participation in institutional committee work.

Compensation:

Salary is based on academic preparation and years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in the general area of comparative anatomy, developmental/evolutionary biology or vertebrate zoology is required.   We are seeking faculty committed to teaching excellence in an undergraduate, liberal arts program.  Knowledge of the field with a record of scholarship and a willingness to conduct and oversee student research is a necessity.  Potential faculty must be committed to mentoring undergraduates in course work, research and career goals.  Applicants who demonstrate commitment to the integration of faith and learning and to competent inter-cultural teaching are preferred. Candidates must be dedicated to undergraduate teaching and committed to serving as a role model for students within a Christian academic community.  A vibrant personal Christian faith commitment is required, as well as commitment to a broadly Wesleyan tradition.
