Job Description:

Staff, part-time, 10 months, non-exempt; 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. during the academic year for a total of 880 hours annually.

This position provides support to all full and part-time faculty in the Sport & Kinesiology Department and Masters in Coaching. Also, this position serves as the primary support staff for work in the Athletic Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to all full and part-time faculty in the Sport & Kinesiology Department and Masters in Coaching
  • Assist the full-time Administrative Assistant in Athletic Department work, including recruitment activities
  • Provide support for the Director of Intramurals
  • Assist the Dean of Professional Studies in scheduling meetings, coordinating development of current programs and research regarding such
  • Perform receptionist and clerical tasks for Athletics and Sport & Kinesiology Departments:  Work independently, taking general instructions to plan, implement and complete assigned tasks
  • Organize and maintain scheduling the Recreation Center, Briner Building, H.J. Long and Burritt Gyms.
  • Assist with distribution, completion, collection and maintenance of required drug and insurance forms required by the NCAA, both hard copies and SWOL website
  • Update Athletic website with schedules and team rosters
  • Assist with the annual golf scramble - 2nd Friday in June
  • Assist with the bi-annual Hall of Fame Banquet
  • Assist in the supervision of student workers
  • Communicate, collect and distribute information to other college departments as needed
  • Supervise game management on special occasions, secure workers for games (scorekeepers, students to take videos, etc.) as needed
  • Representative at SLIAC meetings as needed
  • Create, send and monitor return of accurate game contracts with opponents
  • Schedule travel arrangements for teams and guest speakers and faculty
  • Coordinate and supervise Adapted Sports Olympics with ASO Director
  • Be knowledgeable of and assist with budget issues for the Athletic Department, athletic teams, coaches, and faculty
  • Create attendance and assignment files for the faculty and/or assist with D2L attendance forms
  • Understand and stay current in D2L (academic learning environment) and Jenzabar system (institution technology system)

Reports To:

Administrative Assistant to the Athletics and Sport & Kinesiology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional communication skills both verbal and writing
  • Previous experience in athletics and an office setting is desired
  • Strong skills in technology:  MS-Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, D2L learning environment, Jenzabar, social media and other emerging technology
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Management of personnel and project coordination skills
  • Supportive of Greenville University and Athletic Department overall mission
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality on personnel and institutional matters
  • Ability to connect with students

Education or Certification:

  • Prefer a bachelors degree

Required Experience:

  • Preferred three years experience in athletics or related field
